Track a carnivore diet, and the nutrients and labs to watch
Track an animal-based diet with protein of at least 1.6 g/kg and carbohydrate under 20 g a day, and see the nutrients that can run low and your lipid trend.
The carnivore and animal-based protocol scores an animal-foods-only pattern: protein-forward, with no plant foods and very little carbohydrate. AumniVIDA tracks the protocol's own rules without judging them, and answers questions about the pattern accurately, including what is not known.
The targets
AumniVIDA scores these from your logged meals and measurements, and shows the evidence grade for each protocol.
Targets
- Protein: at least 1.6 g/kg
- Carbohydrate: at most 20 g/day
Limits
- No plant foods
How AumniVIDA follows it with your data
- Track the protocol's rules. Plant foods are tracked as the protocol's own limit, not as a failing.
- See the nutrients that can run low. Protein, iron and B12 are usually ample. Vitamin C, fiber, folate and potassium can run low, and appear as numbers with their coverage.
- Follow your lipids. LDL often rises on this pattern. If you have lipid results, AumniVIDA shows the trend and the levers linked to it.

The evidence
The protocol cites a 2021 survey of 2,029 adults on a carnivore diet (Current Developments in Nutrition). It is self-reported data, and long-term outcomes of the pattern are not known.
Before you start
Never stop medication or skip labs for this protocol. Allergy, medication and life-stage safety rules always apply on top. AumniVIDA explains your data for general wellness; diagnosis and treatment decisions stay with you and your clinician.
